Breaking the rules

Now, we love our cats, but because of Olivia's breathing, and just personal preference, we don't let them sleep in our beds. Occasionally I forget to leave the door shut to the rooms, and things like this happen...

Actually, Sophia was already awake, and saw Emma in her crib so decided to go back to "sleep" with her. Needless to say, I have to try harder to remember to shut the doors!!

The Father Daughter Dance

Last night was the annual father daughter dance at our church, and everyone except Sophia went...she said she would go when she was 3. They did the mexican hat dance and had a conga line! A good time was had by all and they looked beautiful although its hard to tell from my awful photography!

Next year, Daddy will have his hands full with all 3, but it's worth it to see them all dressed up and on their "date".

My Reading Log

If you have noticed in my Books I'm reading in 2009 recently, you will see I am now on a Mary Higgins Clark kick. Last year, I set out to read every Danielle Steel book ever written, and I'm happy to say that I did that. Sadly, now I have to wait until she comes out with a new one to enjoy her writing, but it's worth the wait. So I got into Clark's books. A lot of people say when do you have time to read, but its usually at night after all of my "chores"are done, and everyone is asleep, and American Idol is over!! Actually, a few good shows are coming back soon, so I probably won't read as much as I do when there is nothing on except baseball...every night of the week! Madelynne reads every night as part of her homework, and she had asked me why I don't have to read, so now I can say that I do.

A sign of the times

Just a quick thing that needs to be shared. I was on the computer and Sophia comes running in the room and says "hey, get off the computer, I have to check my e-mails!" Ok, she's 2 years old, and already worried about her e-mail...we're in trouble!

The Latest News

Ok, so I don't have any new pics to post, but I just wanted to keep you up to date as to what we've been up to. Olivia is loving dancing this year, and can't wait to get to class every week. She also got up the nerve to go to storytime without me today, which has been a major hangup for her in the past. She was so happy she did it, and so was I. This was after we went to the doctors and learned that she failed her hearing test in her right ear. Not to big of a surprise given her history, but disappointing none the less. Lets just hope that clears up on its own.

Madelynne had her reconciliation in preparation for her first communion this year. She is quite excited to go out and by that all important white dress! She also got her very first spelling word wrong last week. Now its probably us, Ron and I, that were more disappointed to break that perfect record of almost 2 years, but I am sure she will never forget how to write the word sprain!!!

Sophia is also in storytime this year, and she gets so excited to make a project and bring it home to show daddy. She also feels very important that she has something to hang up on the fridge like her big sisters! I keep telling her Olivia's preschool teachers that they will have their biggest challenge yet when Soph comes to school in the fall....little do they know how serious I am!!

Girls Day Out

During school vacation, the girls went the to get manicures at the salon with their cousin Andrea. Even though Sophia's came off 15 minutes after she got into the tub that night, they still had a good day.

And what better way to end the day but with a good old fashioned pig pile...

Olivia's lack of shirt was due to the extreme heat in my aunt's house from the wood stove. My kids usually ask to wear their summer clothes when we go there!

How Cute is she?!

I mean honestly... could I have a cuter goddaughter/cousin?! My girls love Riley, and I hope they can play barbies together very soon!!!

Madelynne wants to be a doctor when she grows up, so here is her first lab coat! She also got some great medical stuff to play with, and is giving us daily information about all of our organs!! I know the last couple of pics have been with only one child in the picture.. I promise we still have the other 2! These were just too good to now show. Calling doctor Madelynne to the ER, stat...

Top Chef...

Madelynne wanted an easy bake oven for christmas, and she also got these great chef clothes to go with it. So far she has made a delicious 1/2 inch thick cake with chocolate frosting...yum, yum! Why is it that the toys that kids want that you think will keep them busy always end up making more work for the parents?!
